The City of Recreation Department – along with instructor Holly Vories – will offer a creative writing series, “Writing from Memory,” Tuesdays, from August 22nd to October 10th, 2023. Each event runs from 10 am to 11:30 am. During the eight-session series, participants will develop their writing skills and use their own personal experiences to develop stories on a page. Plot, style, character development, tone, dialogue, and editing skills are only a few elements covered in the series. The series cost for residents is $40 and $45 for non-residents/visitors. Walk-ins are welcome and the series is prorated based on entry date. Mean Girls brings the iconic movie to life on the broadway as a "ferociously funny" musical. Co-produced by the SNL producer and screenwriter Lorne Michaels, the Tony-nominated show has been performed over 800 times.
Death Cab for Cutie - Known for melodious tracks with deep lyrics and unconventional instrumentation, like, "I'll Follow You Into The Dark," Death Cab for Cutie is an alternative rock band from Washington. Their 2008 music video, "I Will Possess Your Heart," won the Best Editing award at the MTV VMAs.
Multicultural Day - The bold flavors and festive style will make this an evening to be remembered. The colors and spirit of this vibrant community will be on full display for all to see.
Bad Religion - The punk rock band Bad Religion was created in Los Angeles, California, in 1980. It gained major success when it became signed under Atlantic Records in 1993. They revived the punk rock music of the '90s. The only constant member of the group so far is Greg Graffin.
